Matt and I traveled to Kingsport this weekend for our last hurrah in TN before baby Hannah comes. I was a little nervous about traveling that far away from my midwife and hospital, but things have been normal so far, so I figured it would be fine. I actually had my first "Braxton Hicks" contraction" in the car ride there. It was nothing really painful, just noticable.

We were given a baby shower on Saturday at Matt's Aunt Christine's house. Baby Hannah is so spoiled already, we have everything we need to take care of her and more! Christine gave us this beautiful baby quilt she made, when we first told her we were expecting. It's going to look great in the nursery (our project for this weekend) with the pink and green!

Here is a picture of me with Leslie and Katelyn,
Hannah's soon to be aunties :)
We had a great weekend with everyone and came home Sunday to HOT South Carolina. I was still enjoying spring.... Wally will be getting his semi-annual haircut soon so he doesn't overheat.
By the way, thanks to those who left "helpful" comments about the boys and their adjustment to life with the baby. I was told today that I should have a "talk" with them about the baby and then maybe they would understand what is going on. I'll let you know how that goes....

Change is coming...."Rough Rough"!

Well, apparently I'm boring some of you (Megan). I don't have much to say, but I'll do my best to enterain.

(First of all, forgive me for the corny title. I know Matt's going to make fun of me for that)

So, I know a lot of people talk about the transition of adding a member to a family and how difficult that can be when there are other siblings involved. Well Hannah does not have any human siblings, but her big "brothers" Mike and Wally are somewhat confused about what is going on with their "mommy". Just in the past week, Mike and Wally have decided not to eat. Well not completely, they're not starving but they are picking and choosing when they eat, probably trying to gain control over the household. Mike has been shying away from me on certain days like he's scared of me...I can't imagine that my growing belly is that scary to him!? Wally has been really needy of attention and petting lately, which is unlike his independent personality. He will stand on two legs and hold his little paws out like he wants me to pick him up, he does the same thing to Matt too. It's so cute, but I'm wondering if they can really sense a change coming. The hospital offers sibling classes to prepare for the new baby, but no one has mentioned anything about pets. I'm tempted to call and ask....not really ;)

So if anyone has advice on how to adjust dogs to a new baby in the house let me know. I've heard to carry diapers or blankets on you so they get used to the scent of the baby. If you're reading this and beginning to worry about baby Hannah being around the boys (mike and wally), don't worry. We don't plan to officially introduce them for a while. The boys have their own space/bachelor pad that is seperate from where we are.

I know they'll be great big brothers one day!!

8 Weeks to go!!!

Yes, we have exactly 8 weeks left until baby Hannah is due to enter our family! I can't wait to see what she looks like and to see her little expressions.

I went to the Dr. yesterday and things are still looking good. Baby's head is pointed down and her feet are in the area of my right rib (I've been wondering what that was) She may be positioned similarly to this picture. My blood pressure is still normal and I'm feeling really good, so I hope this continues through the rest of the pregnancy.

We had a nice visit to TN, for Easter weekend with our families and friends. Mom and I were able to shop and lunch together, something we haven't done in a while (I'm having to control her spending on baby clothes...she has developed an addiction and may need an intervention before baby Hannah is born). Matt got to ride dangerously in a fast car, so he had a good time too ;)

Our first baby shower was lost of fun and filled with lots of pink!! I'm looking forward to dressing her up in all the pretty clothes she's been given. Here is a picture of Matt and I at my mamaw Bible's house, after the baby shower(picture is a tad blurry, sorry). As you can see, I am getting quite a belly. I've hit the 20lb. mark (dr. says it's in the normal range, but it just seems like a lot to gain in 32 weeks).

We still have a few more showers to come and the nursery to finish. I can't wait to see the finished product!
Toodles!

Let's try this again...

Well, I'm not doing so great at this blogging so far. I'm not crazy about communicating via internet, BUT I know this will be good thing once I get the ball rolling. I'm still experimenting with the look of the blog and pictures, etc... so it may look different each time you read until I find something I really like.

Anyway, onto updates. Baby Hannah is a lil' wiggle worm. I don't know if that is good or bad. :) The nurse mid-wife says it is good, so I'll go with that. I am going to the doc every two weeks to do the routine checkups and such. I am feeling good for the most part and have had a very easy pregnancy so far. My only complaint is getting comfortable at night when I sleep. Regardless of the number of pillows I use, I can't seem to find a comfy spot to rest my belly, and my back needs that desperately(it's amazing how a few extra pounds on your belly can make a huge difference in back pain). I suppose this is something I'll have to get use to for the next two months.
Random Thought:
Pudding cup? Yes it is. It's hard to tell, but it has baby Hannah's due date (June 14th) as the expiration date. I thought it was neat....?? I plan to find more, I will let you know when I do.
Matt and I have a busy month ahead of us. We are coming to see some of you this weekend for Easter and for our first baby shower at Mamaw Bible's house!! Then in two weeks, we will be in Kingsport for a shower with Matt's family and friends. After that, no more long trips...until after baby comes. The last place I want to deliver a baby is in a car on the side of the interstate...YIKES!!
We still have yet to put the nursery together. Everything is in the room, just not in it's place (crib and mattress in boxes, growing diaper stash in corner *my goal is a 3 month supply before she arrives*, bedding and curtains hanging over the rocking chair...it's a mess). As soon as we have it presentable, I will post pictures!!
I also hope to post some pics of my growing baby belly (not a bump anymore) soon.
Happy Easter!!
