Short sleeves and finger foods.

So Hannah has been experimenting with baby food the past few weeks and has caught on pretty quickly. She started with puffs and then the yogurt drops and next we'll try some cooked and cubed sweet potatoes, butternut squash and regular potatoes, which might be harder for her to grasp but I'd rather feed her REAL food. So that's the plan.

In the past week she has been just a ball of energy. The world is hers, so she thinks. She wants to touch and grab EVERYTHING. It's fun to see her so interested in everything. So far she doesn't object if I say no and take something away from her. However, this new found world she's exploring is keeping her from going to sleep easily. She's always loved her naps and went to bed without a fuss most nights but the past two night and days she was rolling all around her crib trying to pull on things and play with stuff and gets herself worked up until she can't get to sleep. SO we're working on trying to get her back into a good routine like we had. Hopefully this phase will pass soon.

We've been outside a lot and doing some spring cleaning and organizing. So I haven't been so good about taking pictures or doing much on the computer the last week, but here are few pictures of her little hands and rolly polly arms in her short sleeves eating her yogurt puffs.

I think she still gets surprised when something makes it in her mouth

9 months!!

Hannah is going to her 9 month check up tomorrow. I can't believe she is almost a year old!!! This past month has been so fun!! Each month has it's special moments to me but month 8 was just fun! Hannah is really interactive and mimicking a lot, which can be really funny. She's a rolly polly and into everything she can roll to, but not crawling yet and no teeth yet!! Fine with me, she'll be dangerous with teeth i'm sure. Also, I just realized yesterday that I haven't consulted "the books" in almost a month, I used to do that on a daily basis. They are helpful, but it also can drive me crazy comparing and worrying and such. Speaking of books, while I was in TN, I saw a book titled "The Strong Willed Child" on my parents book shelf, and guess who it was for? ME! Apparently I haven't always been as SWEET and innocent as I am today ;) I can't imagine Hannah not being a easy child.... but it could happen. Here are a few of my favorite pictures of our time in TN.

oops did I put that in there.... :)

Well I'm not sure what's going on but somehow I uploaded a few pictures in a random order. Hopefully I'll get back into the blogging groove soon. Oh yeah and Stefan has a "euro mullet", where it's long on top and in the back but short on the sides, I tried to get a good picture of it below. I tried to talk him into perming it so he could be a total AC Slater but he didn't like the idea. I can't believe the mullet is making a comeback!

Blogger won't upload photos on here so I'm working on that. We've been out and about in TN the past two weekends so I have a few pics of our fun times in TN. Hope to have those soon!!

Lip Smackin' good

We were in TN this weekend to see Matt's family, but for those of you who we didn't see here are some of Hannah's funny things she's doing with her mouth. She's also learning to wave goodbye but I haven't got that on tape yet.

She's also learning to say mama, not dada yet. We're not counting this as her first words though because she's mostly babbling it and she doesn't know that I'm mama yet. She just says it to everything. I don't know if it should count or not, or if her first word is when she knows what she is saying.

I'm also planning to start teaching her sign language this month. I guess I may be starting a little late but I think she can learn quickly at the stage she's at now, she's really good with her hands and fingers. I'm thinking of trying a set of flash cards, Matt's coworker's wife uses these and she said they were really good for her daughter. Let me know if you've heard of a good signing book for babies.

Baby feet

So Hannah is almost 8 1/2 months. She has grown quite a bit except in the feet. She is still wearing newborn size boots and some size 1!! I don't think she'll ever be able to walk if her feet don't grow. In the meantime, I'm enjoying her little baby toes.

Matt does this with his big toe too
